2010 Festival Scholarships

How to Apply for a Scholarship to Split This Rock Poetry Festival, March 10-13, 2010

Deadline: February 20, 2010. Thank you for your applications!

Split This Rock is committed to diversity of all kinds. If a scholarship would help make your attendance possible, please apply!

Please note: A scholarship to the festival covers the registration fee only. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to help with transportation or housing. Please check our spaceShare page for DC-area residents offering a room in their home or for carpooling possibilities: www.SpaceShare.com/splitthisrock.

Scholarships will be given based on economic need, with a particular emphasis on youth and seniors, poets and activists of color, poets and activists with disabilities, and poets and activists from other marginalized groups.

To apply, please write us a brief letter (no more than 250 words) telling us about yourself: your background, work, organizational affiliations, if any, etc. Describe your circumstances and why a scholarship would be helpful. We don’t need to see poems or a résumé. Please include full contact information: mailing address, phone, and email.
