THE MAGIC YOUR BODY BECOMES

By Michal 'MJ' Jones

for Devonte Hart

                                      You are [found] in
cherry blossom trees / heron bird flight /rib-
bon of night / space   between    stairs / rose
orchid bloom / swirled wood grain / limb of
laughter / lavender nectar / tadpole pond /
golden wheat / water smooth stones / blue
breezed ripples / paint brush stroke / fire
toke / lilted tongue / sun strewn dust / salt
shake spill / origami fold / daylight moon /

             When I construct you
meet you safe in redwood shade
                         your body breathes a wingspan

casts no shadow.
