Split This Rock Poetry Festival: Poems of Provocation & Witness invites poets, writers, activists, and dreamers to Washington, DC for four days of poetry, community building, and creative transformation. The festival features readings, workshops, panel discussions, youth programming, parties, activism—opportunities to speak out for justice, build connection and community, and celebrate the many ways poetry can act as an agent for social change.

As Split This Rock’s third festival draws to a close, hear organizers’ plans for the coming two years and share your ideas and requests. On the docket for Split This Rock are plans to organize creative social change campaigns, present poetry readings via podcast and other new media, build an interactive website—including a resource library that you can help build—and branch out into traditional publishing. Help us design programs and strategies to meet your needs and ensure that Split This Rock rocks on into the future. Get involved! Swing a hammer! Split some rocks!
 

11:30 am - 1 pm      FEATURED READING AND CLOSING CEREMONY: Naomi Shihab Nye, Sherwin Bitsui, and Kathy Engel

All readings will take place in the auditorium at Carlos Rosario International School (1100 Harvard Street NW).
